I was pleasantly surprised by my weekend stay at the hotel. My room overlooked the river Ness, which was a luxurious touch I didn't expect. The deluxe king room was spacious and modern, providing a comfortable retreat. However, being located in the Waterside ‘annexe' made it slightly detached from the main hotel, and having a separate reception desk in that area could have improved the experience.

Rooms
8.0
My room overlooking the river Ness was a delightful luxury. The deluxe king room was large and modern.
Service
7.0
The service was a bit slow at times, but overall, the staff were efficient and friendly.
Location

The hotel's location on the banks of the River Ness, near Inverness Castle and St Andrew's Cathedral, was fantastic. Despite some noise early in the morning, the proximity to the town center and attractions like the Eden Court Theatre made it a great choice.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience had its ups and downs. While the restaurant offered great choices, the service was slow and the food quality inconsistent. Waiting for an hour for a meal was disappointing, and the portions were small and greasy for the price.
Facilities

The hotel facilities were adequate, but there were some issues with the dining room logistics. Despite this, the presence of Christmas lights nearby added to the charming atmosphere.

My stay at the hotel was a complete disaster. The room was freezing cold with broken heating and a shower that needed multiple complaints before being moved to a barely better serviced apartment. Throughout the night, comfort and cleanliness were far from satisfactory.

Rooms

The room was so cold with broken heating and a structurally off-level floor in the serviced apartment.
Service

Breakfast lacked traditional Scottish quality with greasy options and missing items like yoghurt and brown bread.

The hotel's rooms are beautiful, comfy, and equipped with clean, well-designed en suite facilities, despite some noise issues. The service is helpful and accommodating, with some glitches during busy times. The location is perfect by the river, offering a peaceful feel in the town center. The dining experience is mostly pleasant, although there were some hiccups with the food quality. Overall, a good value for money choice, especially for its convenient setting.

7.2/10

The hotel offers lovely, spacious rooms that are clean and well-presented. While the price may be on the higher side compared to the facilities provided, the absence of free Wi-Fi and a lack of natural light affected the overall comfort of the stay. The reception staff could have been more welcoming, and the presence of a strange cupboard outside the window was a bit off-putting.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms are clean and tidy, with everything you need. They are lovely, spacious, warm, and well-decorated.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, apologizing for issues and showing engagement.

I stayed at this hotel for a few days. While the location was convenient, close to town, and had a nice view of an old church across the water, the rooms lacked proper indicators on the taps and a functioning shower handle, making it the worst hotel during my 4-week Scotland trip. The staff seemed indifferent, and the alley view with dumpsters wasn't appealing.
